Commodity Watch: Aluminium futures advance on fresh bets

New Delhi: Aluminium prices rose Rs 1.55 to Rs 302.50 per kilogram in the futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in January increased Rs 1.55 or 0.52 per cent to Rs 302.50 per kg in 4,945 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid demand from consuming industries supported aluminium prices in the futures market.
Zinc futures rise on increased turnover
Zinc prices rose 95 paise to Rs 313.90 per kilogram in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. Zinc contracts for January delivery traded 0.3 per cent higher in a business turnover of 5,323 lots.
Copper futures gain on higher demand
Copper futures rose 7.63 per cent to Rs 1,375 per kilogram due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for January delivery grew Rs 97.55 in a business turnover of 12,867 lots.
